Unsolicited Email

The following message was received from Royal Skandia last week.

Please be advised that it has recently come to our attention that a letter has been sent to a client, requesting the completion of a ‘W-8 BEN Form’ which requires personal details to be provided such as passport number and banking details. The letter is on re-created Skandia headed paper and the fax contact details do not relate to those of Royal Skandia.

Please note that any such correspondence has not been sent by Royal Skandia, and the information requested is not required by Royal Skandia and the form should not be completed.

This is an isolated incident but it is being addressed as a matter of urgency.

If you receive any such requests, please forward it to your broker or to me by fax on +852 3552 5889 and send the original documents by mail to me at the following address:
