Maintenance Charges from Feb 2009

The monthly maintenance charge will be increased with effective from February 2009.
For the past two years we have been able to keep this charge at its current level. However, following the recent review we have found it necessary to adjust our monthly maintenance charge in 2009.

The increase will apply to the following Royal Skandia products:

•  Managed Savings Account

•  Managed Pension Account

•  Managed Capital Account (regular contributions only)

•  Managed Account Plus

•  International Mortgage Account

The increase will take effect from February 2009 and we will shortly be writing to all affected clients to advise them of this change. Details of the increase are set in the table below.

*The maintenance charge for the Managed Capital Account only applies if the higher of the premium paid or fund value in that month is below £10,000 (€15,000, US$15,000 or HK$120,000).

 When the Fixed Account Loan is selected for the Managed Savings Account, Managed Pension Account and Managed Capital Account, the extra monthly fee that applies will also increase to the level of the revised maintenance charge.

Royal Skandia Online Client Centre

Skandia International has launched the Royal Skandia Client Centre, an online service to keep advisers and clients up-to-date with their investments.

It is expected advisers will benefit from the development as it will significantly decrease the amount of time many of them spend obtaining valuation and portfolio information for their clients, said Skandia International.

Available to Royal Skandia’s customers, the Client Centre will provide access to an online valuation function that will make it easier for clients to make informed decisions about their investments, according to the company.

Furthermore, the online centre allows portfolio bond clients to have access to their latest quarterly statement at any time.

A Chinese version of the Client Centre will be made available to Royal Skandia’s Hong Kong clients.

Skandia International said Client Centre is the first of several e-business developments aimed to benefit the client and financial adviser relationships. The additions are part of a wider initiative to widen its online client-facing services.

Helen Everest, head of marketing and e-business at Skandia International, said the development of the online service was brought about by strong demand from advisers and clients.

“In terms of the benefits to the end client, the new system provides convenience for them, enabling them to have instant access to information on their investments at any time. For advisers the new system will free up much of their time therefore allowing them to focus their efforts on servicing their clients”, she said.
